I was told about this bar/cafe in the Calshot Activities Centre by a site regular so decided to check it out on what was one of the few sunny days we had recently. Shame, I was still too cold to sit outside because there were plenty of tables out there with great views of Southampton Water. A wonderful position to watch the large cruise ships sailing by. Inside you could also see the rock climbing walls so a very interesting place all around! Very comfortable seating & friendly service.
We wanted to try out the Thai food as I believe one of the owners is Thai. The dish on offer was Thai Chicken Red Curry served with steamed rice & available hot, med, or mild. I opted for mild & my partner for hot. He would have preferred his hotter but I enjoyed the flavour of mine & it was quite spicy enough for me. We started with mini Spring Rolls which were delicious. I was a bit disappointed because I love Thai noodle dishes but none were available. It is obvious that traditional pub grub makes up the majority of the menu & very good it looked too. I saw wonderful baguettes piled high with bacon being served & very crunchy looking chips, I will definitely go again! Would also be great just for a drink outside on a summer evening. Wonderful base for a walk along the beach.
