silver LWL Silver Award – Awarded November 2012 – Cost £££££

Last week two of us and two friends decided to go to Gunwharf Quays for a little light Christmas shopping and whilst there to join in on a Ladies Luncheon at Brasserie Blanc. They regularly hold these events and now we know why they are so popular! What could be better, stalls full of great ideas for Christmas, a complimentary Buck’s Fizz on arrival, a 3 Course Menu for only £20, and a goody bag to take home? The noise level in the attractive refurbished restaurant was full on; goodness knows how many ladies were enjoying themselves at full volume!Even though they were so busy we had very good service from the young and friendly staff and the manager Amy who had worked so hard to organise all.To accompany lunch we ordered Domaine Sante-Anne, Picpoul de Pinet £21.95.

There were 3 choices at each course; our starters Hot smoked salmon, beetroot, watercress salad, Gnocchi, chestnuts, blue cheese sauce & White onion soup, truffle cream. Our mains, 3 of us chose Pork confit, grain mustard mash and one chose Pumpkin risotto. The Desserts, Crème brulee a la vanille, Apple & blackberry crumble & Chocolate & banana crepe. Considering the number of people they were catering for we thought the food very good and also the menu had good choice.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and next time you are in Gunwharf or Winchester highly recommend Brasserie Blanc. We have been singing their praises for years. They were about the first restaurant to offer two courses for a very reasonable price and to include a glass of wine! Now they offer 2 courses for £10.95, or 3 for £13.50 and a glass of wine for only £2.95. Available daily until 7.0pm.

Cost £££££

Please help to spread the word by telling any restaurants you visit that you tried them because you were recommended by LWL in Hampshire… Thank you!
