We decided to go to The Raft in Milford on Sea for a family Sunday lunch. There were 5 adults and 5 children. Deny & his staff gave us a warm welcome. We were seated at a table in the back room which proved to be a great position as the children could watch their pizza being cooked, move around without irritating other diners and play in the courtyard garden.

Loved the décor in this interesting bistro; a mixture of vintage, shabby chic, comfy leather chairs, wood floors and even a glamorous chandelier! They are open to serve coffees, snacks and drinks all day long. For starters we ordered 2 sharing boards (whitebait, calamari, shrimp, spring roll, sweet chilli & tartare sauce £12.00 & chorizo, proscuitto, pickled cabbage, sunblush tomato £10.00) both of which were freshly made and well presented.

Our next choices included the raft meaty pan, chorizo, pork belly, canellini beans, mushrooms, fried egg £12.5; it lived up to its name and was much enjoyed. No.8 pizza, shark attack £10, tuna, anchovies, prawns, moules, fresh chilli, garlic, No.12 pizza special calzone, chefs special and a home beef burger, flame grilled melted cheddar cheese, salad, chips £10. Lovely flavours!

The pizzas and burgers were straight from the oven and served with lovely side salads. We couldn’t manage much pudding so the adults shared 3 on a raft, £8, which is as stated 3 puds all of which were yummy. We had beers, juices and 3 bottles of red wine!

I would definitely recommend The Raft for its relaxed ambiance and its delicious and freshly made food. Cost ££££
